Securing financing used to require manual, tedious, error-prone data entry, but that’s becoming a thing of the past thanks to the integration of OCR, NLP and Machine Learning.

Olea, a venture of Standard Chartered, is a digitised trade finance platform that offers a transparent and hassle-free way to access working capital. Rather than waiting one to four months to receive payments from customers, suppliers can now quickly convert their outstanding invoices into cash within days, thus improving their financial agility.

However, the process of raising financing has historically been cumbersome and time-consuming. Users identified this process as one of their primary pain points.

Without automation, the process of submitting a single invoice typically takes more than 15 minutes.
